“Happy Campers” in 805 Living

I love camping. Growing up, my dad (an athlete and avid camper) used to take my older sisters, younger brother, and me to camp spots all along the California coast from the Russian River to Big Sur.

Take a peek at some key essentials for the next big camping trip in this month’s 805 Living:

Snapshots from Croatia

Croatia has always been on my travel bucket list, and luckily, I was just there for a story. One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to has to be Plitvice Lakes National Park. (There was a even a fresh layer of snow on the ground.)

It’s quickly become one of my favorite countries, and I can’t wait to go back. Here are just a few highlights.

“Cottage Industry” in Anthology Magazine

I’ve always considered photo stylists magicians for their ability to curate goods and effortlessly transform the pages of ordinary catalogs. For this issue of Anthology, I interviewed San Francisco–based stylist Glenn Jenkins and featured his cottage-style home in wine country for my story “Cottage Industry.”

Read the full story in the magazine online, or pick up a copy at Anthropologie or other major bookstores.

Fashion Truck Fever: mobile boutiques roll into San Francisco

Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve been obsessed with ice cream trucks, gypsy wagons, trailers-turned-inns, and the idea of a boutique on wheels. Now, thanks to Christina Ruiz, founder of TopShelf Boutique, it’s finally a reality. Get a glimpse inside the traveling caravan and a crop of other pop-up stores in my story, “Fashion In The Fast Lane” in yesterday’s Style section of  The San Francisco Chronicle:

Hobart, Tasmania in Afar Magazine

Hobart, Tasmania, is just about as idyllic as it gets. I was lucky enough to visit the island and dig up some of the hidden gems along the way for my latest story in the March/April issue of Afar Magazine. There wasn’t space to include Saffire Resort, about 3 hours away on the coast of Freycinet (one of the most beautiful spots on earth), but the culinary scene in Hobart alone is worth the visit.

Lupita Island, Tanzania in C Magazine

I’m excited to announce my latest story “Paradise Found” on Lupita Island, Tanzania, in this month’s issue of C Magazine.

Tanzania has to be one of my favorite places on earth. I can’t decide what I love more, the sunsets, the people, the animals, or the mere beauty. It was the trip of a lifetime!

Corrales, New Mexico in Sunset Magazine

I’m thrilled to share my latest day trip story on Corrales, New Mexico in Sunset’s January issue. The small town (just outside Albuquerque) is a throwback to all things ranch. It’s like going back in time. I didn’t have space to include Corrales Winery, but it’s gorgeous. A definite must-see. I can’t wait to go back!
