“Like Father, Like Son” in Southbay Magazine

 

Fitness and athletics has always been a huge part of my life. That’s thanks to my dad, John. He’s an Olympian who won a bronze medal in Rowing (double sculls) in the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City. He later coached the US team in the 1976 Olympics in Montreal, and worked as an announcer for the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles. He still coaches, rows almost every day, and competes all around the world. (You can hear my dad interviewed here about the 1968 Olympics for the Stark Center in Texas.) My brother, Jack, followed suit. He rowed on the National team, earned US Rowing‘s Fan’s Choice Masters Athlete of the year award in 2013, and has finished four Ironman competitions in Brazil, France, Mexico, and Australia.
